i am using jdk 1.4.2_03 and Tomcat 5.0.27.I want to know how to do servlet chaining using Tomcat.if possible give some example.

Servlet chaining is something that early servlet containers used to process requests in a pipelined way. It was never part of the Servlet specification, and I don't think Tomcat has ever supported it.
To achieve similar aims, check out the Servlet Filter concept. It allows you to have several pieces of code work on a request successively.
Alternatively, you can use RequestDispatchers for a more closely coupled approach.
