Auto Refreshing Page  RSS feed

It is suggested that this could cause the browser to automatically refreshing the page periodically:

response.addHeader("Refresh", "10");

However, I went thru rfc2616 (http1.1), and there is nothing about "Refresh" response header! Could anyone advice where is this header defined.

A HTML META refresh tag will do it for you:

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="300">

Thx, but my concern is where is this 'Refresh' header defined. I looked at the http protocol specification and it doesn't mention 'Refresh' response header! Is it something specific to the browsers.

The meta tag belongs within the <head> of your HTML document. When used to refresh the current page, the syntax looks like this:


<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="600">

http-equiv has the same meaning as http header, so you are right.
