Hi,
I don't know if it is the good list to post this message.

I've a servlet deployed on a web server. The servlet is reading an InputStream from the HttpServletRequest.
The InputStream contains xml text and the xml is parsed when the request is posted.
When I've a huge number of web clients sending a request at the same time (I'm using JMeter), I've a read timed out exception during the parsing. I do believe is a time out coming from the InputStream request.
My question is: is it a server configuration problem or a InputStream problem or a Servlet problem ?

Thanks,
Olivier Michiels

Sounds like it could be a serlet container configuration problem. They only make a limitted number of threads available to service requests. Some also provide a secondary 'wait queue' for peak requests. If you have 'huge numbers' all coming at the same time you could be filling both, and if the requests take a significant amount of time (as XML operations often do), it is quite likely that requests waiting on the queue could time out before getting a response.
