I have a servlet which generates a form for people with low sight ability. I'd like to provide sound explanation for form elements. javax.speech looks like a perfect candidate. To avoid invention of bicycle, maybe somebody can point me to some open source servlet application using this API.

Since the servlet executes any java on the server, any speech generated by it would play on the server's sound system. You will need to find a client-side solution.

I expected that speech system can generate wav or mp3 instead of playing it on server. So servlet can send this stream back setting correct MIME.

Ah, I think I see what you are after.

While it could be possible to stream the sound data using a servlet, you still need client-side controls. You can't just send sound data as part of the HTML stream that generates the page. You need client-side controls and a way to trigger them. I think the combination of the correct embedded elements and the Javascript to trigger them at the correct times might be able to do what you are after if the speech API can generate the correct sound streams for you.
