Title: Why Afghanistan has so many problems including an insane government. Note: I meant 2600 years and not 4600 years.
Timeline of ancient Afghanistan 600 BC to 1737 AD: (At Bottom 1700 to 2001 ) 600-400 BC: Persian Empire Bactrian, the ancient language of Bactria in northern Afghanistan, is unique among the Iranian languages in being written by means of the Greek alphabet.

1520-1579 Wars against Moghul government 1708 War against Safavid Persia 1736-7: Shah king of Persia conquers part of Afghanistan Note: Afghanistan has been at on and off again war with Persia (Iran) for 2300 years ! And on and off war with may for 2600 years!
Because Afghanistan is in the middle of Central asia and in between 4 different civilizations ( Hindu, Chinese, Russian, and Islamic ). Afghanistan will likely always have an unstable government and be Ideologicially and Ethnicly unstable.
The point is that the reason why Afghanistan has so many problems is because of its unique history and geography.
I hope the US, Nato and the UN understand that we cannot make Afghanistan a democratic republic like the US or make the Hindu-kush a ski resort.

What a defeatist attitude. So your point is that since it has never been done - it can't be done. Yes they have some problems. Yes they are situated between lots of conflicting ideologies. That does not mean that they can not be a democracy. What in the world prevents it except themselves (and defeatist attitudes). By the way - we don't want to make the Hindu-kush a ski resort - It would make a much better beach resort - assuming we can fix the lack of water problem .

The Hindu-Kush is part of the Himalayas, the Highest mountains in the world and they are 1000+ miles from the ocean, so it could in no way be a beach resort its too cold ! MT Everest is 29,035 feet tall ( Measured via GPS) If you want to try to get a tan when its 60 below zero not including wind chill factor be my guest! Because Afghanistan is in the middle of Central asia and in between 4 different civilizations ( Hindu, Chinese, Russian, and Islamic ). Also Afghanistan is on the borders of Iran, Russia, China and very close to India. All 4 of the nations listed in the past were super powers. China and India right now are the super powers of the region.
Note: Afghanistans northern mountains are Hindu-Kush that connects to the Himalayas.
