session attribute availability

On page 274 of HFS&J: attributes bound into a session are available to any other servlet that belongs to the same servlet context...

How it can be right, it will be available to only those servlet that will have access to that session...

Session variables bound to a servlet will not be availabe to any other servlets of that session

You don't bind session variables to a servlet.
Session variables are available to any resource that shares that session.
