You unregistered guys kill me, lol. You guys keep replying to your own messages. Everybody knows you are most likely regular posters under a registered name, so grow a pair and use your registered name instead of cowering behind unregistered. If you actually have conviction in what you are saying, then grow a pair and be man enough to put your name by your opinion. Otherwise you are most likely just trying to stir up trouble and possibly seek some kind of attention that maybe you were lacking as a child. So I will now give you a test: ============================== I, Mr Unregistered, post under an unregistered name instead of my normal registered name because: A) I only come here to stir up trouble and insult people B) I am ashamed of what I post and I would be embarassed if people knew who I really was C) I have no conviction in my own thoughts and opinions D) I have always been a coward and I always will be E) All of the above
I don't care what you think, Jason. If you have a problem then it's entirely in your court. No one is doing anything against the rules 'round these parts by not using registered names and if it wasn't for recent events we'd still be talking trivial matters in the forum. Personally I don't like your point of views and I don't like your holier than thou attitude, but I'm here for the Java part of this site (anyone remember that?) If I decide to post in 'drivel' under an assumed name because I don't want it affecting peoples views on what I post elsewhere, too freakin bad. I have and do post unpopular opinions but with the current stress levels round here and the fact that I give people access to my work email address because some like to send follow-up questions, I'd rather not make it easy for some hot head to flame me. You post under our own name? Good for you. Whatever.
Yet again i agree with Jason. No other board i know of allows unregistered posters. You wanna take a guess as to why? Because people will just stir shit up and cause trouble because they know they can hide behind a mask. And to think people here are older and supposedly more grown up and mature. Ive been on quake boards filled with kids who dont have their licenses that can act more mature than some of these people. I post whatever i feel. If people dont like it thats their perogative, but at least they know who posted it and who to take it up with if they have a problem with.

You must not get around much. There are plenty of boards on the net that allow unregistered posters. Just having registered posters does not mean you get real names either. So the effect is the same.

Um yeah. Thats it. I dont get around much. I am part of numerous boards right now, and have been part of numerous others in the past. Few if any allow unreg. posters. Sure there are the generic forums that allow that kind of stuff. And of course noone uses their real names. Thats not the point though. I have a different name for basically every forum, but everyone knows its me. And if i have a discussion or beef with person a or b at least i know who is behind the name.

So is that answer B then?
Personally I don't like your point of views
Which points of views would those be? You've heard the saying... "Opionions are like @#$holes, we all have one and they all stink." The great thing is you don't have to like my points of view, or anyone elses for that matter. What a boring place it would be if we all held the same opinions as everyone else.
I don't like your holier than thou attitude
Don't know what you are talking about. You must have some kind of a complex. Have I said something that you feel hit too close to home?
If I decide to post in 'drivel' under an assumed name because I don't want it affecting peoples views on what I post elsewhere, too freakin bad.
So then you don't really stand by what you say? Are you saying that you intentionally try to say things in drivel that are offensive? Or do you feel what you post under your real name holds such little value that people are likely to be discount it they knew how you really felt about things? If what you are saying stands on its own merits then you should have no problems.
I have and do post unpopular opinions
Which is a very brave and admirable thing for you to do when you refuse to attribute those opinions to yourself.
I'd rather not make it easy for some hot head to flame me.
But you have no problems flaming somebody else. Using an unregistered name is obviously not forbidden in these forums, nor am i saying it should be. What I am saying is that if you are going to flame someone for their opinions, at least be a man about it. Don't cower behind unregistered. You obviously don't wish to, or are not capable of, engaging in any meaningful conversation. You come here not to express an opinion but to cut down others. That's one of the great things about the rest of the Ranch requiring registered names to post. People are less likely to say things that they wouldn't say if they met them face-to-face. It promotes civility, and holds you accoutnable for what you say. But if you want to live in a world where people refuse to accept personal responsibility, I guess there isn't much I can say to change your mind. By the way, you're Canadian, aren't you?
