I am sure a lot of Indians have been confronted by a form/application which asks them to fill out racial information and most of the time, the categories don't even consider people from India/Indian sub-continent. I am curious what our (people from India) real *race* is? Considering there are only three races (I am not sure) Caucasoid, Mongloid and Negroid..
Someone looked it up in (some?) dictionary and they described a group called "Indics". So where do the American Indians fall in these categories? And are middle eastern folks closer to Indics or caucasians? Or does it matter?

Most anthropological texts I've read classify most inhabitants of the Indian subcontinent as caucasoid, with the more asiatic types near the Himalayas falling into the mongoloid category; However, I tend to agree with an Anthropology professor I studied under at Penn State, Dr. Charles Kolb, that the concept of "race" is an artificial construct of those trying to group people by certain physical traits. We are all homo sapiens-sapiens.
