I got one so bad today I'd swear in church just to get rid of it.
I'm getting so tired of having to work through pain like this; no wonder people get hooked on pain killers.

I don't get headaches, but I'm starting to get some really nasty pains in my neck and shoulders.

My wife gets them all of the time and I'm really glad I dont. IO get one form stress a few times a year but thats about it - all it takes then is little relaxation and it goes away.
People with migraine problems really have my sympathy I understand they can make you want to curl up and die.

I deal with Migraine headaches from time to time, the kind of headache that makes you want to just bang your heard against a wall or roll on the floor hoping for relief.
Helpful suggestion: Drink water! Sounds simple but 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. Lack of water is the number-one trigger of daytime fatique. A mere drop of 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math and difficulty focusing on the computer screen. We drink lots of soda but not enough water. Since I have increased water intake, headaches have occurred less frequently. Hope this helps.

Any beverage that might keep me from swearing in church I'd have to approach cautiously.

Nah, just that You'd been a bit quiet recently.
I think there were some people here looking for You earlier.

I get one every week or so. Could be all that sugar and caffiene I ingest. Imitrex helps if you catch it early enough.

I woke up this morning around 4:00 a.m. and remembered something I thought I would share. This is all very elementary to each or you I am sure but sometimes, the elementary escapes us as we look for the more complex.
I was moved to a different office a few months ago and the computer was moved under a florescent light. If your computer and the florescent light are in sync, you will be able to visually see more jumping on your monitor. Scientific studies show that flashing lights can trigger seizure activity in indiviuals who are prone to having seizures. Intense flashing lights are used during EEG's to measure seizure activity. It seems to follow that a screen that you can visually see the sequence of movement, could also effect people prone to headaches.
I went to the eye doctor for a regular exam and did not think about getting my eyes dilated. I had to return to work. I went to my office and could not look at the screen even with sunglasses on. The screen looked like lightening and the rolling movement made me nauseaus from motion sickness. Even though computers are fast and we may not think we see the movement on the screen consciously, we do see it.
Simple ergonomics could be a cause of headaches among programmers or any computer operator. If your chair is not the correct height, spasms in the neck can occur and pull your spine out of alignment causing pressure on nerves to cause severe headaches.
Just a thought!

I get headaches ALOT. The only thing that makes them better is to take tylenol at the VERY beginning of it. If you wait till it really hurts there isnt much you can do. I tried taking several tylenols, multiple codein pills and nothing does the trick. Im immune to pain killers i think.

I used to get headaches 3-4 times a week and a Migraine anytime I would physically exert myself(ie Hockey). I am now seeing a Chiropractor and have seen a drastic reduction in headaches. In fact they are limited to stressful times only now.
...but a word of caution, there are a lot of freaks out there who are also certified chiropractors claiming they can heal cancer, arthritis, aids, and what not. The chiropractor I see bases his practice on researched Bio-mechanics, not the "I can heal all" mentality. In fact, my chiropractor also treats Donovan Bailey, and other assorted elite athletes.
I guess its "buyer beware" when it comes to Chiropractors.

Hi Aakanksha,
Don't think migraines are related to high-blood pressure; I've had them all my life and I have low-blood pressure. Like Andy said, best thing is to catch them right away. The only thing that ever works for me is Veganin; tylenol, advil and aspirin do zilch.
And yes, they can last for days and days

Most of the time I can get rid of my stress related headaches if I recognize it is coming on and use a few relaxation techniques.

Hi Jane,
Thanx ya. I agree with u that the best way to deal with then is to catch them righ away. Also since migraine is caused by tension and anxiety, one should try to stay away from that.
Regards,
Aakanksha

Fiorinal works well for me. The Generic name is Butalbital/asa/caf. The difference in price is about $70.00. I had always used Fiorinal but the company has changed ownership and the price is up.
