Do a little personal/practical research, go to any job web site and search on the terms Visual Basic and then Java (to be really careful see if you can filter out the entries that include JavaScript. You will find that there are as many or more Java jobs as VB. Seeing that VB had a 3 or 4 year head start, I'd say that is pretty good going
