Please do not change topics within a thread. If you want to change, start a new thread. There isn't a hard and fast rule on this but it is just doing the right thing. Granted the forum is Meaningless Drivel but try to stick to the original threads topic. Just because it is Meaningless Drivel doesn't mean that we have to throw all manners out. The original thread posters thanks you and I thank you for your cooperation.
"Forum decorum" has a nice rhythm to it. I'm trying to think of some other inadvertent rhymes that describe common breaches of etiquette or other light miseries a BB is subject to. For example: Myopic Topic: Any topic starting with an asinine rhetorical question, e.g., Is Java dead? Hijack Stack: A series of posts, beginning with a hijack response and immediately followed by two or more posts scolding the hijacker, or contesting the allegation or better yet invoking the First Amendment. Canned reprimand: A moderator warning that is cut-and-pasted so often that you've memorized, usually the naming policy spiel. Hyperlink kink: An URL to a post that gets deleted. Any others?

The first incarnation of this phrase belongs to Shailesh Sonavadekar, who used to finish his posts about JavaRanch naming policy with an appeal to keep "decorum of the forum", or something like this... Nice rhythm also.
