web.xml is not pointing to the local application  RSS feed

Hi,
The applciation is not picking up the web.xml which is in my local machine. Do anybody have idea how to debug, where is it pointing to? Thanks in advance.....

It is in WEB-INF

I commented on of the <servlet-mapping> tag, still the application is able use that path.....

I would bet on an XML syntax error created when you edited web.xml - in that case there should be errors logged.

The web.xml file is read when the application starts up.
Did you restart your application and/or container after editing it?
