sharathbabu yeramalla, welcome to the Ranch.

We've put together a few guidelines that will help you get the most out of JavaRanch as a resource. Follow the "smart questions" link below to read them

In particular you should read this gragrding your choice of subjects, and read this with regards to including enough information to answer your question.

First, on a site devoted to Java, using "java" as a subject line doesn't make much sense. See:
http://faq.javaranch.com/view?UseAMeaningfulSubjectLine

Second: What is the context for your question?
Where are you seeing 'application.xml'?
There is nothing in the servlet spec about this file.

"YSB",
First, please check your private messages and follow the instructions there.

As to your question, in j2ee (at least in servlets) application.xml is nothing.
There is no mention of it in the servlet spec.

From your other posts, I'm guessing that this is a file that you found in BEA's WebLogic application server.
Is this right?

OK, this forum is for servlets.
We do have a forum dedicated to BEA Weblogic.
I'll move this thread over there for you.

Please take care of that other issue (read your private messages).
Thanks.
