Anyone who as good links you can post them here: This is what I personally think of Islam and Muslims: Note in college all of the Muslims I meet did not pray 5 times per day and were completely secular having Hard Rock T-shirts and playing computer games like Quake. Which brings me to this point, there are 3 things going on in the Islamic world, one is secularization, second is a slow and steady rise in Islamic fundamentalism (Which is Anti-Secular and a Utopian political-religious Ideology ), and third a massive turning point in the Islamic world which is akin to The Reformation and Enlightment of Europe. (among a few intellectuals). The Islamic world is being torn in 3 different directions, the only thing America and its allies can do is Contain Islamic fundamentalism.

Don't attack the women's rights and religious freedom rights of Islam without knowing the ABC's of Islam. Islam is the ONLY religion that has even addressed the rights of women - read the Quran find your answers. Islam granted women more than 1400 years ago what the western women obtained only in the last 100 years or so. But Islam also protects the kids and the elderly whereas the freedom of women in the west has adversely affected the kids and the elderly. Study Islam not The Actions of the few misled People. Most muslims nations currently suffer from leadership of misled people who are power hungry. They seek to gain from oppressing the population and therefore cause major grievance to representation of Islam. Find the "John Doe" muslim and "Sam Jones" muslim and befriend him. Are you saying the children and/or elderly are protected through Islam by denying freedom to women? While I am all for a parent staying home with the children when possible, the "freedom of women in the west" that you refer to enables both parents to financially provide for the family. This often enables the children to live a better, more secure life than would be possible if both parents were not working. Is that where you were going with that statement or have I got it all wrong?
