So there have been sounds that I get to make some servlets spit out WAP stuff specifically for blackberry WAP browsers.

I wonder if there is a blackberry WAP browser that I could run on my desktop so I could fiddle with my servlets and see what the stuff looks like on the blackberry?

Anybody know where I could find such a thing?

The blackberry emulator from RIM isn't what you want?

I'm downloading that now.

I guess I was kinda fishing for something where you could have a drop down menu that would specify a few different contraptions: for screen size as well as how they do their WAP/WML stuff. Maybe even a dozen different blackberrys, some palms, some cell phones, etc.

After a long grueling process, I downloaded, installed and ran the "BlackBerry 8830 for Sprint Simulator".

Apparently this is for java apps. Not for web browser stuff.

I found another thing called the "MDS Studio" and I've been downloading that for the last half hour. It might have another half hour to go ....

I would think a WML browser that could run on windows would be easy to come by? Anybody know of such a beast?

I found out that current blackberry devices use WML. Does anyone know if the old blackberries used WML?

I found at least one old blackberry that supports WML ...

Anybody know if the blackberry WML is different from the WML on other WML browsers?

I can't remember the version I was developing against, but it was about 3-4 years ago and it used WML. I do not believe there was anything specific in the WML used.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
