Video Games Racial Diversity

I read this article and I had to post this here to see what other people think. Maybe it's because I am a white American male, but can't we draw this Politically Correct line somewhere?
I am not a racial person. I believe in equal rights. I consider myself to be "PC". But come on. It is a video game. It is a product. But let's look a bit deeper.
Who creates most of the games today? I guarntee you it is not White American Males. We talk about games not containing enough minorites in their games. Well, in the countries that are producing these games, I am the minority. So I guess a better question is how diverse for what country. Having a White American Male as your hero in Japan might be extremely PC. Having an African American Villian in Japan might be extremely PC. Having a Female victom in Japan might be extremely PC.
And I could name at least 10 popular video games where you can select your skin color and gender of your character. I can then name 10 popular video games where HUMANS don't even exist.
What does everyone else think?

Personally I dont mind at all. We got an XBox a few weeks ago and I rented the 'Dead or Alive' game for it. I found out I suck at games like, but might get it just for the women

I agree with Justin. Its the target audience you have to make products for.

PC people are like "Nazi's" in that if you do not agree with them or conform to their silly values, they label you a "racist".
Even though you are the one being open minded, balanced, fair and objective. They are intolerant and do not like any dialogue
of the issues just conformity!

You are a little confused. Nazi's did not label anyone as racist, on the contrary they were labeled as racists.

On the subject of Nazis... has anyone else noticed the only "safe" (i.e. won't cause the P.C. people to have a hissy ) enemies in video games basically fall into four categories?

  • Nazis
  • Aliens
  • Zombies
  • Any combination of the above.

i have that game; it is called "Rogue Spear" from Red Storm Entertainment. i especially like the mission with the hijacked airplane... sometimes i sit on the hill with my sniper rifle and pick-off the suckers from a distance, other times i go into the plane with my H&K-MP5 and waste all the terrorists up-close and personal.

Is that the game based off of a Clancy novel? I bought one of those games and couldn't get the hang of having to control more than one person...I got frustrated and gave it away.
Just got done with Alice...really enjoyed it. Looking forward to playing Max Paine. Anyone played it? I'm waiting for the price to drop. I only buy games when they are around $20.

yea, it is based on "Rainbow Six" and there is actaully a game for that book... this is the sequal. i haven't gotten into writing my own missions yet, but i have beat all the given scenarios.
