Hello,
I would like my web app to retrieve a password from a database (jdbc realm and basic authentication) and use it further on in order to perform the jpa authentication.
How can I do that please?
Thanks in advance,
Julien.

What is JPA Authentication?

Wat problem you are facing in JDBC API in retrieving password from database?

I have something similar to this:

I need to get the password from somewhere. Don't I?
FYI JPA stands for Java Persitence API.
Any clue anyone?
Julien.

You will need to use the DB username and password for that, not the client credentials. You can store these in properties somewhere

I am aware.

I asked because I don't get the reason for using JDBC and JPA both?

As DOM said, provide database username and password *in your code*, why do you want to supply users' username and password there...
