Hi
I have java EE 5 SDK on my system. I set CLASSPATH variable to servlet-api.jar and PATH variable to C:\sun\sdk\bin.
I have been trying to run a servlet but compiler is giving error:
package javax.servlet.http does not exist.

Initially it was giving package javax.servlet does not exist. But after setting PATH to javax pakage, the compiler has shown package javax.servlet.http does not exist error.

I just want to run a simple servlet. please do guide me if i have to do any setting changes or if i need to install other j2ee version.

shubhra,

Please stop posting this question here.
Your first post was moved to Java In General (Beginner) because that's were we discuss classpath and javac issues (even when trying to compile servlets)

Please continue here:

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
