question on ISP networking..

me <- phone company line connect us -> ISP <- some big company which has T3 or OC2 or OC12? -> internet

Is that the pictures?? me connected to my ISP by version(my case)
and my ISP connect to the internet by ( big bandwith company)?
What line usually does aDsL ISP have to the internet?
8 to 1 with T1?

Sometimes the diagram is even simpler:
the data goes:
me - big phone company - internet
and the payment goes
me => ISP -> big phone company
-> ISP profits
The ISP becomes just a retailer and support channel for a wholesale product which you use direct from the provider.
