Actually I've found evidence that it odesn't necessesarily follow that the lower your member number the earlier you registered. There are no number 1 or 2 .. however Chris Akins is number 3 but he registered in Oct 2001!

All three of the above came, grabbed the lucky member IDs then only posted once since they registered
Eric Johnson has unlucky # 13 he also has only posted once.

I was the very first person to register. I wonder why I didn't get a number like 1, or 2.
