Hi,
I am actually looking for a worthwhile Java project to work on, for my Master's project. I am interested in involving a few APIs such as Servlets, EJB, Swing, JDBC etc., Can anybody help me by lending ideas or direct me to websites which can help me in choosing my project???.....I'm eagerly waiting.........
Regards,
Kavitha
P.S.: Earlier, i posted my query in the wrong, unrelated forum(in Swing forum, by mistake!!!).....my apologies....

Kavitha,
Cool. I am actually looking for the same information! How far along are you? Where are you studying?
I have four more classes and my thesis left. I figure I can graduate sometime in 2002. I have spent the last two years working as a java programmer and would love to do my thesis in this area. I have thought about doing something with the 3D-API, but, then again, my current project is using servlets, which is pretty cool too.
I guess I should figure something out soon! eek!

well, I'm doing my MS in CS in CT, USA....done with my courses....have my final project left....hoping to graduate by the end of summer....what about you...where are you studying?....
and, i'm totally lost regarding the topic of my project......i know i want it to be a 3-tier application, definitely want to use Swing as interface....but, that's about it!...did you come across any sites having any info about project titles???...i searched for a few in Gamelan...came up with an idea of developing an IDE....will stick to this idea until something better comes along....
So long,
Kavitha

Kavitha,
I'm getting my MSCS also, in Illinois. Hmmm, an IDE, sounds challanging!! I guess I still have some time to think about it. Good Luck!
