i have a doubt why are certain interfaces declared explicitly as abstract
abstract interface inter{
void add();
}
any way the method does not have a body ...

Interfaces are implicitly abstract. So using the abstract keyword does not do any harm either.

Every interface is implicitly abstract. This modifier is obsolete and should not be used in new programs
