In the java.net package there are two classes...
URLEncoder and URLDecoder
They can be used to encode and decode url's respectively

I was trying to write my own URLEncoder, and halfway into writing it, I remembered the Java creed, "Someone else has probably already written it..." I looked on the Sun specs page for 2 minutes and found it. Saved me quite a bit of time.
