is there any limitation on classpath length while
setting the classpath

I have ran into problems a while back where the classpath was too long. Unfortunately, I do not remember exactly how long it was. Maybe someone else knows??? I can tell you what I did to shorten it on Windows. You can shorten each directory name with the first 6 characters followed by ~1 For example: C:\MyDirectory\MyTextFile.txt becomes C:\MyDire~1\MyText~1.txt This only shortened it by 5 characters, but for a long classpath, it can make a big difference. I do not know if there is something like this on Unix. Hope this helps!
