Help : can I load a byte array as an image ???

Hi again.
I would like to display an image in my browser from a "serialised" record :

picture was one of gif/jpg/tif/pdf loaded in Oracle and now converted into a byte array.
I would like to display this picture by re-using existing codes that I have :

First I do note know whether this is possible because in the past few months , I have only used following :

Second, on compiling I get this error :

...cannot resolve symbol
symbol : method getImage (java.net.URL,byte[])
location: class testArea.Tunnel.demoApplet
image = getImage(getDoumentBase(), thisEmpRec.picture);

Please note that thisEmpRec.picture is a byte array (see empRecord.java )
