Hi guys, it's my forst post here, so let me thank you in advance first.
After grasping some basics in Java, I decided to make a password applet in my personal homepage, where I enter a password and upon some specific passwords, it should go to according webpages on the main frame.
I used showApplet(URL,"main") command, it passes through the compiler but doesn't load any new html page on my main frame.
To my horror, I found out in MSDN Library (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vjref98/html/java.applet.AppletContext006.asp) that "An applet viewer or browser is free to ignore showDocument."
So, is there any way to make sure the applet works in IE, either by adding additional codes or using other commands facilitating the same function?

Hi Alton:
Among all the methods of Applet, I find:
public AudioClip getAudioClip(URL url) ;
public AudioClip getAudioClip(URL url, String string) ;
public Image getImage(URL url) ;
public Image getImage(URL url, String string) ;
public void play(URL url) ;
public void play(URL url, String string) ;
Perhaps one of these will work for you.
