Thousands of years ago, there were 7 kingdoms in
China. The powerest kingdom was called Qin.Qin
wanted to defeat the other 6 kingdoms and make
a great big China(Qin was the first builder of
Great Wall). For this reason, the other kindoms
made a union to fight with great Qin(a little like the 'j2ee union' and ms's '.net').
One day Qin wanted to fight with his neighbor
kingdom called Zhao.Zhao was very worried. At
last Zhao had a good idea to delay this fight.
Zhao canvassed for Qin to let Qin make a new
trench to father the flood in Qin.Zhao thank if
Qin would make this big trench which would take
much money and many years, then the fight would
be delayed.Qin agreed with this. After finishing
this trench Qin became more power and defeated
the other kingdoms at last.
Then someone ask me why you tell this story in
this j2ee forum. Some open source are making the
.net's library of linux version and some companies
come closer to ms from j2ee comp(like ibm).If
they continue,.net would run on some version of
unix..net is like the trench of Qin.If .net become
the most popular server-side tool, you would be
bind yourself with ms regardless you use windows
or unix.

...moving this to MD.

Seriously? That's what you're going with? I prefer this tiny ad:
