Is there a way for me to take an image of any size and convert it to a 32X32 pixel image and have it tell me what color of each individual pixel's color is? Also would I be using AWT or Swing.

Ofcourse there is. Can you tell me how far you've come so far?
I suggest you take a look java.awt.image, and especially at the PixelGrabber..
