i found this question and answer in some site ..
Can a lock be acquired on a class?
Yes, a lock can be acquired on a class. This lock is acquired on the class's Class object.
can any1 tell me more abt gettting lock on class's Class object ...how is it done ??

Both methods acquire a lock on the FooBar.class object. It's a Java object like any other, of class Class, so it's got a monitor lock like any other.
