hi all, i found this question and answer in some site .. Can a lock be acquired on a class? Yes, a lock can be acquired on a class. This lock is acquired on the class's Class object. can any1 tell me more abt gettting lock on class's Class object ...how is it done ?? thanks raj

Both methods acquire a lock on the FooBar.class object. It's a Java object like any other, of class Class, so it's got a monitor lock like any other. - Peter
