I was looking for communistic caricatures of the USA to show you your true image, but didn't find any offensive enough. However, I found a 1920-s commercial that looks... um... there is something in it. Can you tell what product is being advertised? Just curious

Looks like an ad for braces - but I really would not want to go to that Orthodontist  .
And what is with that pyramid on his nose? Perhaps this guy needs a plastic surgeon more than an Dentist.

Yes, but I think I have an unfair advantage.

The pyramid seems to have CCCP on it, my guess would be it stands for USSR?
As far as the product goes, could it be Cigarettes?

I thought of pacifiers too, but that one with a ring on it looks rather dangerous for a baby. Then again, this is the 1920's in Russia, so there may not have been the same sort of consumer protection laws.

I was confused about guy's color scheme, so my guess would be tatoo kit and contact lenses (of two distinctly different colors) - if they had them in 1920-s. Then the posture implies the guy may need something like electrical insulator...

Hm... I just realized I am not sure how to translate the text. What is your "pacifier" anyway? Maybe what I need... In short, it is what babies suck.
Michael Matola is welcome to translate the whole text - it is about as good as the picture
Michael Ernest is welcome to make a poem out of it - to keep the original spirit. In short, the guy is saying that ... are so good, he is ready to suck them until his old age
If they they are SO good... Not sure I would buy them for my baby!

What is your "pacifier" anyway?
Pacifier -- pustyshka
Nipple -- soska
Fourth gadget from the right is a pacifier. The rest are nipples sans bottle.

I'm sure there were no lawsuits at this time, so convenience was the first priority-->key ring to help carry it/not lose it? Remember, this ad takes place during a time when it was common practice to give your baby whiskey ( probably Vodka in Russia ) to help them sleep. mmmmm...vodka!

Is that still standard practice in the US? It might explain a thing or two.
They used to give Ritalin to hyperactive kids in the US too didn't they? Quacks.

Ritalin is one of the drugs given to children with ADHD. As the father of a child with ADHD, I thank God that such medications exist.

So it doesn't increase the hyperactivity then? I got the impression that Ritalin was a stimulant, and that it would make no sense to give a stimulant to an already hyperactive kid. Drugs work in mysterious ways.
Sorry if that's getting off-topic Map.

Strangly, it doesn't. In fact, kids with ADHD are calmed down and become more focused by drugs like ritalin and dexedrine which are normally stimulants. Without dexedrine, my son is a whirlwind running around the room from toy to toy without being able to concentrate on anything. With dexedrine he can sit and focus on a toy or book or he can watch and enjoy TV. It's very odd.

Do the next thing next. That’s a pretty good rule. Read the tiny ad, that’s a pretty good rule, too.
