formating numeric display..

hi all,
is it possible to format the decimal display of numeric values ?? i mean, i want 1 to be displayed as 001 and 2 as 002, like that 10 will be displayed as 010 .... i hope my question is clear !!

I love visiting this board because it makes me go out and learn stuff. Try this:

import java.text.DecimalFormat;
public class DFTest
{
   static public void main( String[] args )
   {
        DecimalFormat df = new DecimalFormat("000");
        System.out.println( df.format( 1 ));
   }
}

There are a number of formatters in the JDK. Look at classes derived from Format.
