Much of Java's time and date system is based on milliseconds since 1970.01.01 and the primitive long data type is used to keep track of these milliseconds. By my calculations, this means that shortly after the year 292278994, in the month of August, on the seventeenth day (it will be a Sunday), at 02:12:55 (CST) time will suddenly revert to the days before mankind in the year 292269055 BCE, in the month of December, on the second day (it will... err - was also a Sunday), at 16:47:04 (CST).
You may wish to make the proper arrangements.
Good Luck.

Going from August to December in one second won't be too bad. Help's to cool things off. Of course, the Sun will have turned into a white dwarf by then and the earth will have been consumed by the Sun during its expansion phase so this is probably all academic.

You probably should, but that's more because of the complaints we've been receiving from your neighbors...

You just need a time-out. Put your head down on your desk and count quietly from zero to Long.MAX_VALUE.

Why nobody takes my son,Jesus seriously when he say that there'll be a 2nd coming at the end of times? Everybody has taken the bible sayings for granted. C'mon wake UP! Now God is really angry with you.

Hey, don't be upset even if this world is coming to an end. This world is just a simulation. (Go watch "The Thirdteenth Floor" for a fuller explanation) Even if this world is destroyed, our consciousness can exist in other worlds.
This world is indeed a simulation. If not, how on earth can you explain some of the strange happenings in your life? (Search your memories, there're bound to be some strange incidents in life that you come across)

An example form my life would be I've fallen in love with this Russian lady when she told me that she would be going back to Russia for a couple of weeks to settle somethings. Somehow I have this feeling that she would be returning back to Russia for good.
When I reached home, I found a ticket to Russia lying underneath my window. But the ticket is expired. I thought someone has broken into my room. I check all my valuables but they seem to be alright. My mates in the other rooms couldn't have done it as I've locked my room. Then when I asked my mom if she's the one, she said could've been the wind.
A few days later, I found a food wraper underneath my window again. The words on the wrapper says..............
I have to tell myslef it's the wind again. So much for being over suspicious...........Even if there's a 3rd or 4th occurence, I'll still tell myself it's either the birds or wind.
There are also days where I bump into a handful of people more than once.........
And the stories don't just end there......
I've manage to forget many of them to stay sensible.............that's what's so good about having a poor memory.

Getting bsck on topic (can't stand those highjackers)...
Isn't it the Mayans or the Aztecs that had a fairly advanced calendar that just stops in like 2011 or 2018 (something like that)? I remember something like that from the Discovery channel.

If ever were a case for thread deleting, this is it.

As long as I still get paid for the time between August and December everything will be fine. That would be sweet! as long as the boss doesn't ask for a list of tasks accomplished during this period of time
