I/O Redirecting problem

I am trying to replace std output with a printStream that
copies the output to console & a file,
the code

class PT extends PrintStream {  
  PrintStream pt;
  PT (PrintStream pt1, PrintStream pt2) {
    super(pt1);
    this.pt = pt2;
  }
  public void flush(){ super.flush(); pt.flush();}
  public void close(){ super.close(); pt.close(); }
  public void  write (byte[] bf, int start, int length) { // override write
    try {
      super.write(bf,start,bf.length);
      pt.write(bf,start,bf.length);
    }
    catch (Exception e) {}  
  }
  public void  write (byte[] bf) { // override write, 
    try {
      super.write(bf,0,bf.length);
      pt.write(bf,0,bf.length);
    }
    catch (Exception e) {}  
  }
}
public class Pdr {
  public static void main (String[] args) throws Exception {
    PrintStream ps = new PrintStream(new FileOutputStream("ccl.txt"));

    System.out.println("Java Rocks");

the code compiles OK, but the output is odd (shows on console & ccl.txt)
Java Rocks
va Rocks
Can someone throw some light ?

Try the following,

PrintStream pt;
public PT1(PrintStream pt,PrintStream stdout) {
super(stdout,true);
this.pt = pt;
}
public void println(String s) {
super.println(s);
pt.println(s);
}
}
public class Pdr {
public static void main (String[] args) throws Exception {
PrintStream ps = new PrintStream(new FileOutputStream("ccl.txt"));
PT1 pt1 = new PT1(ps,System.out);
System.setOut(pt1);
System.out.println("Java Rocks");
}
}

It worked for me.
I didn't understand why you were getting the wiered output. Also, I am not sure why you were overriding write() methods? How did you make sure that those methods are the ones you would need to override?

Thanks for the advice, it worked and I understand better now.
For the write override thing, I am following the code example here. Maybe I does not follow it correctly.
