I am writing the medieval computer game Tron in
Java- this is my first programming class,
and I don't know where to start?!!!
Advice?
TA's suggested Hashmaps, but they were unclear on
how to use them.
HELP?

hi Amanda
this question is very broad...can you get us some more details on what you need help ? maybe you can try google ?
a HashMap is used to store key/value pairs. you can put a Objet in a hashmap with a key (e.g. a String "myobject") and retrieve it later by that name.
cheers

Probably you should start with tiny programs (10-20 strings), and
only after ten of them, begin with Tron. It will be much more easy.
(It my feeling after such kind of question)
