Is there any standred way to timestamp in java?

What kind of timestamp you're talking about?
There's always java.sql.Timestamp and System.currentTimeMillis()
(In any case, I doubt it has anything to do with Security so someone will probably move this post somewhere else)

HTTP Digest Authentication:
Random value that is unique created by the server .
(Clients IP address,followed by a timestamp and then a random chunk of data created by the server. )
This what i was looking for (System.currentTimeMillis())
