i am having a hard time retrieving the password! i just want to ask why the getPassword method was deprecated? if the getPassword now will return an array of character, how do you suggest me to check it to a
string
?

simple, use the static method
String.copyValueOf(char[] data) which will return a string "built" from the character array represented by data
