I am getting the following error message when I run my program.
javaw.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x50d65bd0" referenced memory at "0x50d65bd0". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
I am running eclipse with Java 1.4.2. I am also running on Windows 2000. I have applied the Support Pack v4.0.

Doesn't sound like a threading problem, so I'm moving this to Java in General (Intermediate). Unless you're using JNI, the virtual machine really shouldn't crash like that for any reason releted to your own software.

Yikes!
1. I'd make sure that the jre/bin folder appears first in the PATH environment variable setting.
2. If that doesn't fix it, I'd try uninstalling all JREs and J2SDKs, restarting the computer, and reinstalling.
Now, if you're going to start hanging out at the ranch, you should be aware of something.
We ain't got many rules 'round these parts, but we do got one. Please change your display name to comply with The JavaRanch Naming Policy. A single letter, abbreviated last name doesn't cut it.
Thanks Pardner! Hope to see you 'round the Ranch!
