Is there an equivalent of perl's LWP in java ?
LWP let's my code act like a browser and interact with websites, etc. and automate things like downloading patches, testing whether all links on my site are working properly and so on.

Another http api than the one mentioned on javajunkies is the Jakarta Commons HTTPClient. You might want to check that out also...
