Computer Science pioneer E W Dijkstra passed away on Wednesday in Netherlands.
I saw only one news on yahoo and UT Austin website.

Any otherlinks will be appreciated.
Any java rancher who was fortunate to hear any of his lectures?

Very sad. I have programmed in Algol 60, read his "GOTO considered harmful" paper when it was first published, and still have a copy of "a discipline of programming". I'll read the latter again today.
The modern computing community, (not just Java) has a lot to thank this man (and his contempories) for.
Maybe the Java designers should now finally banish "goto" from the language keywords as a sign of respect.
To Moderator: This thread should be moved to a more suitable topic title.

Jim, I just noticed that topic "Java News" has similar thread; maybe there?
Ho Hum, er...
I had been awake I would have read the first reply to this thread, and placed my contribution there.
Like, is being a moderator, the final torment?
