Does this bother anyone? Is this a viable solution for couples with fertility problems? Or does this maybe go a bit too far?

Having a clone is not that different from being identical twins... It's not like we can clone another Jason Menard. Or am I missing something?
Look , there's three Maps around, and noone complaints...

If I understand the cnn story correctly then yes, they can clone another Jason, or another Shura for that matter. They take someone's dna, they take someone else's egg, and stick the dna in the egg somehow (what happens to the egg's old dna, is what I'd like to know).

Why do people keep talking about three Maps? I do not understand!
There is only one Map here - me! Me! It's only me!

Or worse.
Rosie- I gather Shura's point is that you wouldn't get another Jason Menard, because even identical twins are still distinct, with different experiences. I think you'd have a very hard time recreating Jason Menard as we know him. (Assuming anyone finds that a worthwhile goal.)
Jason- hmmm, I dunno. I don't find this application of cloning very troubling in itself, as a solution to fertility problems. But there are a lot of other potential applications that would be more troubling, and once cloning is "OK" in some cases it gets tougher and tougher to draw the line. And while I sympathize with couples unable to conceive through traditional methods, it stikes me as a bit selfish to go to such lengths just for the DNA of one parent. Adoption seems to have been discounted as an option too easily here. Just of few off-the-cuff thoughts... maybe more later...

Nor would we want to I don't think I would be able to argue with two of them...

I think I agree with you for the most part. It seems to me an unecessary procedure to go through in order to parent a child. I think they are too dismissive of adoption, and seem generally to have a negative view of it, which is too bad. It's not in the cards for everyone to be able to biologically conceive their own children, and there are plenty of children out there who could use a home.
It would seem to me that with current technology, and the long term effects of such a technique being relatively unknown, they risk needlessly doing harm to their child. I don't know.... I can definitely understand the desire to parent, but what I don't understand is their seemingly overwhelming need that the child must be of their flesh. And is this really such an important thing worth experimenting with somebody else's life?
I don't think I have a problem with the procedure so much, other than the fact that it apparently hasn't undergone proper medical trials, but I think the couple are being overly selfish.

It took 200 hundred tries to get Dolly and she shows evidence of premature aging. It seems to me that experimenting with human beings is loathsome.

I feel that this is so wrong on so many levels. Sadly, I am not educated enough to express myself the way I would want to and come off sounding intelligent. So I will suffice to say that my personal beliefs prevent me from ever understanding any explination as to how this is a good, and wise decision. Furthermore, with this type of issue, laws cannot ride the fence and say "This kind of cloning is ok, but this kind is not." It's the same with abortion. Either it is wrong or it is right. There should be no gray area. No "circumstance" that would make something like this appear to be right, or justified.
My opinion in a nutshell: IT'S WRONG!!
