Hi Ian,
I wish I had bought your Cookbook a little earlier as I found a lot of recipies useful especially the String manipulation & Date parts.Hope that the 2nd ed lives upto its predecessors name.

Since the second edition is covered with many great features of J2SE 5.0, I believe that there are many new topics which are valuable to us. The sample chapter got a taste for Tiger's new feature(Generics, foreach and Enumerations)...

I love that chapter also... I do believe that there are many of such Tiger's new features recipes in other chapters as well...

I think Cook book will help to prepare for the Tiger beta exam. So winners are lucky.

Thanks for your kind words about my book.

While I don't have 100% coverage of every new feature - the book was already over 800 pages, and we didn't want to have to sell a moving dolly with every copy :-) - I do talk about (I think) all the most important ones that you are likely to need on a frequent basis.

Cheers
Ian

Nigel, I don't see it in the TOC of the book as well...

I think it's eliminated with intention, since most of the common problems in the real life can be dealt with other APIs as well...

Hi Ian,
Are the old recipies still present in the new book?Or have you redone all ttherecippies from scratch? In that case, the book will be very tasty,I guess
