Any reason to omit Swing and I/O APIs from the book's topics

Hi Brett,
I just would like to know whether there is a specific reason to omit those APIs from the book... Is that because those APIs are not that different in J2SE 5.0?

I heard that Swing API is the least portion that is reviewed in J2SE 5.0... Could you give your opinions on it? Thanks...
