I'm using JCreator to write Java. When I compile the java files with a package e.g.
package something.anotherthing;

It will creat two new directories and put the .class files in
./something/anotherthing/*.class

Does anyone know hoe to stop this so the class files stay with the .java files?

Thanks

I haven't used JCreator but usually with IDE's you can set the bin (or classes) directory when you create a new project. For example in Eclipse, when you create a new prject you set the 'defualt output directory' to be whatever you want.

I prefer to seperate the class and java files BTW. It makes jaring, running Ant scripts, etc... cleaner as I only grab the class files.

But to answer your question, compile from the command line or write an Ant script with the compile task. Then you can edit in JCreator then compile.
