When you buy from half.com (or half.ebay.com) you are buying from a third party -- not from the publisher. So, the condition will vary depending upon who you purchased it from. I've purchased several books in this way, ranging from good to excellent condition -- check with the seller first before you buy it. Kyle
I have been buying and selling books on half.com since they first started about 2 years ago. Long before they were bought out by e-bay & have never had a problem. But before you buy, check the used books on Amazon, sometimes they are cheaper.
Have bought books from half.com and ebay.com. Buy from seller that really sell books (look for a seller with a lot of feedback)! They usually have the best condition and etc etc.. books.
Of course if you buy from Amazon using a link from JavaRAnch, then JavaRanch gets a tiny percent. This is about the only thing that is currently paying for server support. Those wicked guys at ejip just REFUSE to donate their servers and services

Unfortunately the service is unavailable in UK And I find this a real shame. I have had to try to sell my spare computer books on eBay.co.uk, which is a slow market at best. (ahem, see here for details ... ) Does anyone know of a better place to sell second-hand books in the UK ? [ September 20, 2002: Message edited by: Frank Carver ]
Hi Frank I know its a real shame that we can't buy or sell books on half.ebay.com but I found this site http://www.abebooks.co.uk or better still lets build our own site regards sanj
It would give a normal human mental abilities to rival mine. To think it is just a tiny ad:
