Ok, well, this is a 'Game of Life' project, and I'm completely lost! Here is an outline of the code.....

I'm sure anyone who knows java knows the rules, so I wont take up even more space going over them. but anyway, I've completed; paint, clear, and setsize methods. And I need some major help with the rest.

this is what I did in paint........

and setsize.....

ANY AND ALL help will be appreciated, but remember, I'm still somewhat of a beginner, so nothing too advanced please.

Thanks in advanced!

Hi John,

Is this your course assignment? It certainly sounds like one to me

Anyway, you'd not really specify what kind of help you require. If you're hoping that someone, anyone or everyone would help you fill in the blanks, I think you might have a problem here.

But if you're showing us pieces of your codes, asking us how come it didn't work as you expected, or how to optimize it, I'm sure many folks here will jump in & help you. Or if there're some functionalities that you couldn't or not sure how implement, you could share with us what you thought would work & we could discuss about it.

So perhaps you might wish to rephrase your questions & hopefully we could help you help yourself. At the end of the assignment, you're the one who's going to benefit most!

Erm, lastly, don't think its suitable for this thread to be posted in the Immediate forum though.
