Hi there.

Part of our application is to catch clicks to mailto links and redirect them to our mail client instead of Outlook or another default program.

Getting the email address is no problem, but the subject and body of the mailto link appear in uuencoded strings as such...

mailto:whoever@wherever.ac.uk?subject=Whatever%20you%20want

So while I can parse for the subject= part, can anyone tell me how to go about decoding this into "Whatever you want"?

Many kind regards,
Rachel

That's not UUencoded, that's URLencoded
Check out the java.net.URLDecoder

OMG!! Thank you SO much for setting me straight! It's been research for three days to figure out that we were calling the wrong thing. The guy who suggested the uuencode thing is now wearing the dunce cap in the corner .

Thanks and hope that you have a super day!
