Have you checked out the Mobile forum here on JR? Lots of stuff there geared toward PDAs and other devices incorporating Java...

Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) is the broad umbrella of technologies that are used for PDA and mobile device development. As Stan mentions, you should visit our J2ME message board for answers to questions you may have. You should also visit Sun's official Java website and vist the areas about J2ME.

Ahh I thought J2ME was geared towards phones and 'small' screen devices rather than PDA's. The emulators and samples I've found all seem specific to mobile phones as opposed to anything like PDA's.

The distinction between PDA and Phone is getting fuzzier and fuzzier. J2ME started out with PDAs back when a phone was just a phone. There was a lot of excitement when Sun gave away Java enabled Palms to developers.
