Hi there,

I am trying the do an internationalization programming using Java. My question is do you have to set the locale explicitely in my code? Will java program get the current locale automatically? Since I already set the Reginal option in the control panel (Reginal and Language Options).

Thanks in advance.

Java usually grabs the locale information from the operating system environment. This may sometimes lead to trouble. For example, some Unix systems require running under an US locale. In this case you should tweak the default locale of your application programatically.

If you write web applications, the whole question is a little bit trickier to answer. You should take a look at some web application frameworks (like Struts) which use HTTP header information to detect the Locale of the client.
