Hello,

I ran across a script a while back that would automatically detect upon page entry if a visitor had java enabled on their browser, and if they did would do nothing. If they didn't it would automatically bring up a download message (like the flash plugin does or shockwave does).

Now I can't find this script. Can anyone help?

Hi, welcome to the ranch! I love spotting first posts.

Was that Java Web Start you saw before? Take a look at the Sun docs for Java Web Start and see if it looks familiar.

Did a bit of Googling & found this:

Detect the browser/JVM type

Hope this helps.
